Exceptional design-build for the buildings Texas runs on
We hire the architects and engineers, saving owners time and money. One contract, one team, one number to call, from dirt work to doors.
We hire the architects and engineers
Owners get one accountable team instead of refereeing between a designer and a builder.
50+
Years of family-owned commercial construction
- Why owners choose us
One team accountable for every line on the page
Boatman Construction has been building in Texas for more than fifty years. Design-build is the difference: we assemble the design team, carry the drawings through permit, and hand you a finished building.
- 01 One contract. We hire the architects and engineers on your behalf.
- 02 Budget and drawings move together, so redesign after bidding disappears.
- 03 Second and third generation owners on the job, not just on the letterhead.
- Two ways to build with us
Let us hire the design team, or bring your own drawings
Most owners save money on design-build because design and cost move in the same conversation. If your drawings are already done, we will price and build them instead.
Design-Build
We hire the architects and engineers for you.
One contract covers design and construction, so pricing is tested while the drawings are still on paper. It is usually the cheaper of the two routes because nothing gets redrawn after bids come in.

Build-to-Suit
You already have drawings. We price them and build them.
Bring your architect’s set, and we will price it honestly, flag anything that will cost you money in the field, and build it with the same crews and the same standard.
Your design team stays in place
Honest, itemized pricing
Constructability flagged early
Same crews, same standard

Everybody on our site is somebody’s family
Safety is not a binder we keep in the trailer. It is how we get every crew member home to their own dinner table and how we run a more efficient, responsible business. By reducing injuries and incidents, strong safety practices can help lower workers’ comp costs and avoid unnecessary overhead, creating savings for our owners while keeping our people protected.
Safety, quality, and productivity in that order, on every job we run.

Boatman Construction was a life saver on a very complex home I manage in the West U area. We had massive issues on the three story stucco home. It was a huge undertaking from replacing nearly all of the stucco and many areas of framing to dealing with delays during the start of the pandemic. They were great and stayed on top of all of it. We would definitely have them back for future projects!

Contract Fabricating Services, LLC, has had the pleasure of working with Shane on several projects over the past 22 years, during which he was employed by other contractors. We’ve had only positive dealings with Shane during this time.
Shane has repeatedly shown only professionalism, honesty, and loyalty in all our dealings with him.
Now that Shane has established Boatman Construction with his son, Shane B. Boatman, he has the same professionalism, loyalty, and integrity as his dad. They have created one of the highest-qualified and most respected general contractors that we work for.
It is with these and many more experiences with the Boatman Family of Construction that we will, without hesitation, continue to recommend them for projects in the future.

Our building expansion project with Boatman Construction was a first for my partner and me. Shane’s attention to detail is amazing. His scheduling and communication with us and his subcontractors was a perfect example of his professional approach to his work. I would highly recommend Shane and Boatman Construction.

Our new campus for the Great Oak Waldorf School near Houston involved building six 1300-square-foot roundhouse classrooms, a parking lot, playgrounds, a commercial kitchen, and a 2-acre detention pond to accommodate our rapidly growing early childhood program. We chose to partner with Boatman Construction after speaking with several other local contractors. The Boatman team outperformed the other contractors in providing a clear and detailed quote package in a short timeframe, along with providing generous amounts of in-person time to answer our many questions. As a Waldorf School, we prize the preservation of nature and the native forest that occupied our property. The Boatman team understood this need and worked extremely hard to fulfill it for us by carefully controlling their workers to preserve the environment in as close to natural condition as possible. For this extra effort, we will always be grateful, and our community loves the “nestled in the woods” feel that the Boatman team was able to create for us. From the very beginning, we worked with Shane and Morgan directly, and we much appreciated the lack of bureaucracy. We had the pleasure of working directly with the key people who were experts at what they do and were also decision makers. Boatman made the process easy for our team of volunteers, who had no commercial construction experience, by engaging directly with our architect, our bank, the various disciplines, and even our community and continued to stay engaged through the entire engineering and construction process. The availability and communication from Boatman was excellent at every stage, and they fielded a ton of questions from our team. They also found ways to give us extra features and items that we had not even thought of ourselves, such as building an outdoor amphitheater with extra dirt we had from detention. One of the most impressive aspects of the Boatman team was their willingness to be involved with our community by participating in our town halls, community meetings, galas, and fundraisers. They even set up an early childhood groundbreaking with our smallest children and provided kid-sized hard hats and reflective vests as a way to build excitement within our community. They acted as a true partner every step of the way, and we could not recommend them more highly.

A few days after Harvey hit, Boatman Construction showed up at our center and made our 3-week closure seamless. Every crew they brought in for the different stages was professional and efficient. I can’t say enough good things about this company and would recommend them to everyone I know. David was/is a pleasure to work with.

In doing multiple commercial projects with Boatman Construction, we have found a true construction partner that values the team-build concept for a successful project for both builder and owner. As a subcontractor, it is critical to our business to partner with construction managers who value quality subs and their input to the construction process, while also making sure the project is built in a timely, efficient manner. We look forward to working with Boatman Construction on future projects.

I can honestly say that it is an absolute pleasure working with Shane D. Boatman and his team of employees. Having done business with Boatman Construction over the years, it was apparent early on that this is a company that really cares. They care about their employees, subcontractors, and the entire construction team. This approach has helped Boatman Construction build strong business relationships as well as numerous high-quality projects for many satisfied customers. Schulte Building Systems is proud to have Boatman Construction as a customer and business partner.

My wife and I hired Boatman Construction for a new commercial building we needed for our business. The experience has been remarkable. The project manager on the job is respectful and attentive and always answers our questions to our satisfaction. Shane Boatman, the owner, is very active in our project and is constantly available. One of the main things we get from Boatman Construction is help with design, materials, and alternatives when we are sometimes not sure about them. Shane is an expert at showing us ways to actually save money and get more than we expected. Keep Boatman Construction in mind if you are in need of a builder.
